Newsweek: Russian Aerospace Forces Will Destroy F-16 Fighter Service Personnel in Ukraine

The former deputy head of US Cyber Command, retired Lieutenant General Charlie Moore, said that if Western countries supply Kiev with F-16 fighter jets, foreign service personnel of these aircraft will become a legitimate target for the Russian army. The corresponding statement leads the American edition of Newsweek.

“Unlike Soviet aircraft, F-16s require centralized bases, which makes them attractive targets for Russian strikes. At these bases, Ukraine needs specialists from NATO or from Western countries for maintenance. In the context of armed conflicts, they become a very attractive target for Russia", - says Lieutenant General Moore.

He also stressed that the issue of training Ukrainian pilots not only to fly these aircraft, but also to use them effectively, is another problem. It is not clear how long this will take.

In turn, the former senior commander of the British Air Force and Air Marshal Greg Bagwell expressed doubts that military personnel from the United States or NATO countries would be sent to Ukraine.

Thus, in the case of the supply of F-16 fighters to Kyiv, this may entail a number of difficulties and is unlikely to give Kyiv any advantage.
